About Me

I have been raised in a truck from before I could walk. I had always wanted to learn how to drive from a young age. Every chance I got I would be in the truck with either my dad, older brother or one of my uncles.

I would beg dad to go out with him in the truck. I recall sitting on Dad’s knee steering as he went to Adelaide, he would then sit me on the bunk and tell me to watch what he did but, the motion of the truck moving would always put me to sleep.

Around the age of 15 was the first time I ever drove one, with the guidance of my older brother Shannon. There and then I fell in love with the idea of driving. I continued to learn from Shannon and dad (who did not actually want me driving). To please my dad I became a florist, which I still do from time to time.  I asked Shannon to teach me properly, with the gears (crash box) and to my dad’s horror, I went and got my licence.

I started in an LR, then up to Mr Buzz.  As time went on, Karney asked me if I would like to get my HR licence.  Nervous I said yes.  From there it was Kazz and Queenie (truck).  Mis Queenie got a little sick and was replaced by Big Bird … and this is where I am today, 7 years later.

For me, it’s not about driving a truck, it’s a challenge to see if I can do it.  It’s also about freedom, NOT being stuck in 4 walls.  Seeing the beauty that Australia had to offer.  Now that it really is in my blood, it will be hard to ever give up. The only disappointment is not having my brother here to see what he created and see I completed what we started together.

I really do enjoy and love what I do, and I get to meet new people every day.

Working as one team, we’ve been able to focus on improving customer service which makes me extremely proud to be a Sooner driver.
